Celebration of the Life of Patricia (Patsy) Turner
Friday, 10 October 2025

On Monday 6 October, Firbank Grammar hosted a celebration of the life of Patricia (Patsy) Turner — a cherished member of our community whose connection to the School spanned more than eight decades. Patsy began her journey at Firbank in 1934 and graduated in 1945 as Head Prefect and Dux of the School. She returned to Firbank in the 1960s, and in 1971 was appointed Principal, a role in which she made an enduring impact through her vision and leadership. Her relationship with the School continued throughout her life. Patsy remained an active Old Grammarian and was a regular guest at many Firbank events, including the annual Senior School Art Show, where she proudly presented the prestigious Turner Art Prize — donated by Patsy and her three sisters. The influence Patsy had on Firbank is immeasurable. The foundations she established as Principal continue to shape the School today, guiding our commitment to excellence, leadership, and the empowerment of young women.
